A.E. Stallings

Every four years, Oxford University graduates and other members of Convocation choose a professor of poetry, the only such position in the world appointed by democratic election (albeit by a somewhat narrow electorate--a bit like 5th century Athens.) The main job of the Oxford Professor of Poetry is to deliver a lecture a term about poetry, and otherwise to promote poetry. Stallings believes she would do a great job.
